The birthday party on Thursday night was quite a success, to the point where work on Friday didn't 'take'. I needed a 3-day weekend, anyway. The weird thing is when I got to work this morning, there were a bunch of Hope You're Feeling Better emails from people. Strange fucks.

The highlight of the night was the cake fight. One minute we're singing happy birthday and my friend Rose is cutting the cake and all I did was take a TINY peice of icing and put it on someone's nose & the next thing I know, I'm tackling someone 4 times my size and rolling on the floor, rubbing cake in his face. Everyone was freaking out and throwing cake all over the place and luckily my sister was the person behind the bar so no one got 86'ed. She tried to stop the cake fight a few times but finally gave in and let us have our fun. For what it's worth, I stuck around and cleaned up the mess and she was surprised and relieved. Once again it is proven that I can't have nice things. A birthday party turns into a fucking fiasco but goddamnit, it was fun. I haven't had that much cake on my face in months.

I spent most of my weekend with my friend Jill, who recently broke her neck in a diving accident. She's home and doing really well, with the exception of her neck being broken. She can walk around and do some stuff but I'm constantly worried that she's going to trip and fall and either re-break her neck or perhaps break her back or something. Now THAT would suck. We went for a walk on Saturday and on Sunday stuck her in the car and we went for a drive. I've never had someone with a broken neck as my passenger before, so needless to say my hands were all 10 & 2 on the steering wheel and I didn't go over the speed limit once. She's a really cool person and there are like 7 people I'd rather see have a broken neck instead of her. As I said to my sister before we cracked up because something so gay came out of my mouth, "It really sucks when bad things happen to good people." I meant it but we still laughed because that's just a ridiculous thing to say, ever. Even if a friend DOES have a broken neck.

And just so you know, lesbians are really bothering me these days. I know, 90% of the time I fall into that category but they annoy me just the same. D. R. A. M. A. Stop it, just stop it. Please.

Please.

Swan
